Building the next generation for Christ – a call to continued transformation
As I reflect on God’s faithfulness in my life and the journey of growth He has led me through, I want to share my gratitude and a few thoughts on how we can continue to build up and transform the next generation in faith, drawing from personal experiences and the encouragement I’ve received along the way.

All praise and glory to my Heavenly Father for leading and providing each and every day and moment by His grace, beyond what I could express in words. God has used various means to draw me nearer to Him, to guide me, to carry me through brokenness, to convict me of sin and pull me out of sinful paths, to draw me back to Himself during seasons of doubt, to experience His comfort in times of pain, to remind me that He can bring beauty out of ashes, to convince me that He is my Shepherd, to provide strength to hold on to His promises, to experience healing, to bring encouragement in times of struggle, to urge me to praise Him in the storm, to experience His deliverance, to believe that He makes all things beautiful in His time, to show that He is faithful even when I’m not, to taste and see that the Lord is good, and so much more. I praise God for my family, who diligently and humbly prayed for my salvation and spiritual growth and discipled me faithfully, as well as for various church communities, pastors, mentors, prayer warriors, servants of God in various ministries, and loving friends whom God has used.
Based mostly on my personal experience, I’m sharing a few areas where I believe further transformation would be fruitful for the next generations. I do acknowledge that implementation of these suggestions may be challenging, and I am grateful for every servant of God (both clergy and laity) who has and continues to sacrificially and diligently work in the vineyard. We look to the Lord for help and find encouragement in what the Lord can do. “And we do not know what we should do, but our eyes are on You” (2 Chronicles 20:12).
1. English service options every Sunday
2. Curriculums/study guides that are relevant and appropriate for this cultural context and take into consideration the unique needs of the different generations
3. Discipleship groups – similar to small group styles used in college ministries, or Life Groups in other churches. The discussion model of study groups allows for the creation of more authentic and deeper relationships, sharing, and encourages growing closer to God through application and accountability
4. Contemporary service options at every church
5. All-English prayer meeting options – at least one per church
6. Lay youth leaders who lead youth meetings at churches and are provided coaches to guide and support them
7. A path from college back to churches – a separate young adult ministry for them
I wanted to share a few digitally accessible resources that have been helpful in my faith journey. I pray that God will use them as a blessing to others.
